Our eye tincture is made with a blend of Eyebright, Plantain Leaf, Mullein, Chickweed, Raspberry Leaf, White Oak Bark, and Pau D’arco Bark can offer numerous benefits for the health and well-being of your eyes. Eyebright and Plantain leaves are known for their anti-inflammatory properties and can help soothe irritated eyes. Mullein and Chickweed have been used traditionally to promote healthy eyes and improve vision. Raspberry Leaf contains antioxidants that can help protect the eyes from oxidative stress, while White Oak Bark has astringent properties that can help tighten the tissues around the eyes. Pau D’arco Bark is also known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, which can help support healthy eye function. Overall, this alcohol eye tincture can provide a natural and effective way to support the health and vitality of your eyes.
Instructions
- Simmer spring or distilled water, but do not bring the water to a boil. If the water does reach the boiling point, allow it to cool for a few minutes before adding the tincture.
- Pour about 1⁄4 cup of water into a glass cup or mug.
- Add 6 to 12 drops and let it cool.
Pour into an eyecup and use it as a rinse throughout the day. This portion will give you approximately 4-5 rinses per day.
Directions
- Fill your eyecup halfway with the prepared eyewash mixture. Lean forward and press the cup’s edge on the top and bottom eyelids, covering the eye socket and establishing a tight seal.
- With the eyecup still in position, tilt your head back and let the liquid settle over the eye.
- Roll the eye around in the socket with the liquid solution covering it for 15-20 seconds.
- To remove the eyecup, lean forward. Remove the cup from the solution and rinse it. Repeat the process with a new solution for the second eye.
Make sure the water is cool enough to administer to the eye.
Make a fresh batch each morning.
(A dropperful is the quantity of liquid that fills the dropper top’s glass tube when the bulb is pressed and released. The liquid may only fill a little piece of the glass tube, yet this is termed a “dropperful.” A dropperful contains around 30 drops.)
